Your comments

Thank you to everyone who filled out a comment card or cards during the 2006 Festival. We had hundreds! And every single one of them has been read; your comments, praise, criticisms and ideas noted - and they’ve helped a lot in planning this year’s event...

Here are a selection from 2006:

Pete Johnson, Friday morning at St Clement Danes School

I have learnt how to start a book and don’t give up, no matter how hard it is.
I have read all his books so it was very exciting for me to meet him.
The talk was very interesting and informative.
I found it interesting to hear his ideas on how to write books and where he gets his ideas from.

CSI with Ann Cleeves and Helen Pepper,  Friday evening on Chorleywood Common

Marvellous introduction for murder – might think about it!
Superb explanation of crime scene investigation; excellent choice of environment; author excellent.
Interesting, informative, humorous and we’d recommend an event like this again; delicious muffins and hot chocolate!
Very entertaining event
Both speakers were enthusiastic and talked well. A brilliant start to the Festival.
Really good – great fun

Jeremy Strong, Saturday afternoon in Chorleywood Library

Excellent Funny  Wonderful idea  Very good talk
Well cool I think his books are really good value Good fun, I loved it
Fantastic Even captivated by 3-year-old nephew and I never thought possible
A real joy for all of us

Jodi Picoult, Saturday afternoon book group

Fascinating. Jodi was delightful and very impressive. I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The author ’fizzed’ as much as her books! An enlightening and thought provoking occasion.
An excellent speaker who obviously knows her public.
I’d looked forward to this event for weeks - really enjoyed the afternoon. Fantastic!

Saturday’s Gala evening with Barbara Trapido, Jodi Picoult, Conn Iggulden and Dan and Jeff

Great combination of authors and performers
LitFest is a great idea; long may it continue
Excellent evening with a real buzz
Barbara Trapido has inspired me to open up those drawers and get out the forgotten stories
Wonderful event
Absolutely fabulous
When can we book for next year?

Mary Hooper, Sunday afternoon

Excellent, personal, informative, thank you.
It was very interesting to learn where all the great ideas came from. ’At the Sign of the Sugared Plum’ had a great plot. Your books are wonderful!"
A very interesting experience. I will tell my friends about these books.
A fantastic event. An honest, clear and entertaining talk from Mary. Made lots of notes and got good advice."

Sarah Harrison, Sunday afternoon

An inspiring talker, such an easy fluent style. I shall enjoy reading her books.
Sarah is the best speaker I’ve ever heard - clear, lucid and entertaining. It is no wonder she is so prolific and popular. Please ask her back for next year’s festival.
Informative, fun, energising, challenging.
Great story teller and very approachable. Delightful and  funny - magic!
